Wealth pawns hate the idea of free riders. So they whine about these mythical lazy people content to live at the poverty level forever. But let’s examine that very briefly.
Is poverty level wage enough or isn’t it?
If it is, then why do we need to allow wealth to be accumulated without limit on the grounds that wealth motivates people?
If it isn’t then why do we need to cut aid programs on the grounds that if we don’t they’ll stay on the dole?
If obscene wealth is a motivator then why do we need to also motivate by eliminating aid? If people can be happy at poverty level or below then why should we allow people to accumulate obscene wealth?
That’s how you can tell the right wing are liars. They can’t believe both yet they deploy policy as if they do.
That’s why they end up causing their own problems. Like bemoaning the swelling food program rolls yet insisting that said enrollees be prohibited from saving money. (The first question they ask when you apply is how much you have in the bank. If you have been saving up to start a small business they will deny your claim and tell you to eat your future. Why?)
Because they don’t actually want to solve the problem. They want to seize more power and more wealth under the guise of addressing the problem. All around the world, same song 🙂
