Dev Whiteknight Rant

No I’m not going to be polite now, when being honest is universally conflated with being rude.

You guys need to stop white knighting for devs. Seriously. It’s getting stalker creepy.

I don’t care how hard X feature is. Devs are getting paid in fame and no one is forcing them to listen. Users are 100% justified in asking for whatever they want. Just as the devs in turn can say yes or no or nothing. They don’t need you to clutch pearls and come charging to their defense.

Users wildly outnumber devs by their own choice. What are you people, anti democratic? Who do you think these apps are meant to serve? Coders or users? You guys remind me of the red dudes and Dillinger in Tron.

This dev work load defense force “be happy with what ya got pleb” cult that apparently lives everywhere seriously needs to get therapy.

I’m way tired of seeing people scolded for making feature requests even when they do it with obsequious levels of politeness and ring kissing.

Devs and white knights always whine about how hard it is but I don’t see any devs trying to innovate themselves out of existence by making coding itself as simple as typing in English. They want to stay arcane experts and high dollar per hour wizards, and that’s fine but it also comes with consequences.

If you struggle to make yourself the only guy in the room that can read the special code, don’t get miffed and whiny when you spend all day doing translations for the people you refuse to empower.

Can’t wait till natural language code makes the whole crowd obsolete the same way code itself made whole job sectors obsolete. The same way 3d printing is crushing prototyping.
