Contradiction, if votes are rigged and don’t matter anyway then why does it matter what I do or don’t do with my vote?
“Psyop” indeed. Clearly a vote splitting maneuver and/or a justification for third parties generally which presumably this guy’s agenda depends on.
If voting doesn’t matter then the time to do this grass roots push isn’t during an election, it’s about watch dogging current officials. Let them be elected and then impeached for improper conduct. If we had a nation of activists with the balls to stand up to their bosses (let alone their government) we wouldn’t be in this mess.
We can’t even organize to get citizen’s united overturned and virtually no one (I’ve yet to meet anyone in real life or on the Internet that disagrees with me here) is opposed to over turning it. We’re busy squabbling over scraps and blaming each other.
Bottom line is no one is going to care enough to do anything after the election because nothing is stopping them right now. The banks are huge and occupy isn’t a millionth as big as it should be. No one is going to risk their precious jobs and their precious pay checks and their precious credit rating and their precious girlfriend, further down the food chain no one is going to risk prison rape (which they think is funny so long as it happens to other people), and no one is going to risk being tazed or tear gassed or water boarded or droned.
The only realistic chance for reform is technological or internal. The RP crowd has the right idea (and the wrong party.) Creating a third party is still trying to change the system from within. If you’re going to do that you should skip the middle man and get involved with one of the two parties that already have power. If you’re going to exit the federal system then don’t make a third party, just go the free state project route and dominate a specific locality, shop for a jurisdiction and try to ride it out.
No third party in the current context has a prayer, either because they are rigging votes or because people are unwilling to risk a worst case scenario.
There isn’t a third party on that platform that’s more right wing than Mittens. Think about that. Virtually all third party votes are progressive and thus left wing split votes. Clearly the status quo is served by low turn out, so they don’t mind if you don’t vote, and they don’t mind if you vote split either.
The debate is a nice idea but I’m starting to wonder if maybe its just Putin’s Russia wanting Mittens in charge because if there’s one thing Putin understands, it’s how to deal with a kleptocracy.
All of this is just theater. The moment they think you’re desperate enough to actually face them as a mob they’ll let the illusion of change happen again just until we lose interest. Just look at health “reform” and think “yes we can.”
Vote Obama and then get involved. Stand up to your boss, have the spine to face being among The Principled Poor. And don’t hide behind your kids. I think they’d rather have a parent they can respect than a parent who makes a bigger paycheck. They aren’t the ones afraid. You are.
